Time to Teach and Learn
The goal of every educator is to give their students the time and attention they need to succeed. But that goal is often hampered by piles of paperwork and unmanageable workloads. There are constantly changing policies, shifting regulations and rules that can easily stifle the time educators need to teach effectively.
Students often feel the burden placed on their teachers. There is not enough time for one-on-one interaction, less time to ask questions during class and that can result in confusion about assignments and expectations.
Time is something we all want more of, but in our classroom having more time to teach and learn is a necessity that should not be hampered by policies and mandates.
We must treat teachers professionally by making class sizes smaller, reducing paperwork and providing the resources necessary for success in the classroom. Keeping quality teachers in the classroom will give Florida students a better chance at obtaining a world class education.
It's our mission to educate our lawmakers that funding cuts directly impact the amount of time teachers get to spend teaching.
We need to make teaching and learning a priority!
